Brighton Open House
The Western United Open House was held September 14th at our Brighton facility. The biennial event has grown over the years and is now held in an event tent encompassing our entire parking lot. Over 300 participants attended including dozens of manufacturers. The event, which included a catered lunch and prize drawings, allowed vendors to showcase current and upcoming products. It also allowed manufacturers and customers to discuss the current state of the industry with regard to supply chain constraints, inflationary pricing and material planning. Several manufacturers reported that this event is better than most of the national shows they attend with regard to speaking with customers who actually use their products.
We look forward to hosting the event again in 2025.
Product Update
Virginia Transformer’s Integrated Power Module
The VTC Integrated Power Module integrates into one compact unit for EV Charging vs. the traditionally separate MV Switchgear, Transformer and Low Voltage Distribution cabinet.
VTC integrates these various parts so there is no need for digging trenches or making external connections.
This integration saves significant space, time, labor, and money and can be installed in a single day.
The IPM can accept any MV Voltage between 4KV to 35KV and output is 480VAC for level 3 fast charging or 208/120VAC for level 2 or a combination.
The IPM can support any power rating from 500KVA to 4,000KVA in one IPM unit and can support up to 8 chargers at 350KW each with no power derating for the chargers or more chargers at lower rating each.
Current delivery lead time is only 26 weeks (Shortest Lead time in the industry).
ERMCO Transformer Constraints
ERMCO has announced new production constraints on certain types of 3 phase transformers. Western United is working closely with ERMCO to determine exactly which models will be constrained and what the revised lead times will be. We are also investigating alternative solutions to ensure our membership receives product as required.
