WUE UPDATE

The WUE board of directors approved the distribution of checks and certificates totaling over $4.75 M (based on member purchases for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016). These checks and certificates have been sent to all member/customers. The staff at WUE thanks all of their member/customers for their ongoing support. Where else can you buy overhead and underground construction materials and required tools at competitive prices, shipped to members out of the two WUE warehouses and delivered weekly by WUE trucks directly to your warehouse PLUS receive a substantial year end refund on your purchases. ONLY FROM WUE!

Ermco, a cooperatively owned manufacturer of transformers has again extended capital credits to WUE for purchases of transformers from them during calendar year 2015. These credits are extended to WUE members as part of our fiscal year end patronage and on-going redemption of WUE outstanding capital credit certificates.

Dan Brown has joined WUE as COO for the Brighton branch serving the states of CO, WY, NE, UT and KS. Inside sales reps, purchasing and warehousing will all report to Dan.

The WUE test lab has been expanded due to the high level of business with utility customers in CO and surrounding states. A new multi-test blanket test unit and also a new multi-test line hose test unit has been purchased and is scheduled to be installed shortly. The additional test units will assure the consistent level of testing lead times that customers require for their protective rubber goods. WUE will now be able to test rubber goods at multiple test units at the same time. WUE currently tests gloves, sleeves, line hoses, blankets, jumpers, grounds and covers. Additionally WUE recently attended the annual NAIL meeting. WUE is a member of the NAIL organization.

BROOKS CROSSARMS

BROOKS MANUFACTURING CO. now assures that every wood crossarm that leaves their facility is subjected to a stress test of 50 percent of its ultimate strength which more than simulates the typical working load of a distribution crossarm in the field. They are the only wood crossarm manufacturer that performs the test. A BMR (Brooks Machine Rated) stamp in branded into each crossarm (middle of the crossarm) indicating that it has been tested. Brooks is the leading crossarm manufacturer in the country.

ALUMAFORM

ALUMAFORM has introduced an automatic sleeve that has an identifier on the sleeve which visually indicates when the two conductors are properly seated in the sleeve. See your WUE account manager for a presentation.

EVLUMA

EVLUMA has introduced their OmniMax omnidirectional luminaire retrofit LED bulb. New optics, proven electronics and a compact “smart” lamp delivers a diffuse pleasing light in a choice of color temperature ranges with a very easy installation makes the new bulb a must see.
